This large ensuite housed a bath that was never used and a separate shower area, lacked effective storage, and didn’t offer the indulgent feel the client wanted. The aim was to transform the oversized footprint into a more intimate space and address the issue of storage and flow.
The Ask
Shrink the oversized ensuite to create a smaller, luxurious and refined space, introducing practical storage and elevating the overall aesthetic with rich materials, layered lighting and high‑impact finishes.
The Challenge
The unnecessarily generous proportions made the room disjointed and uninviting, and despite the large space, the storage was limited. The challenge was to rebalance the footprint, introduce high‑impact bathroom finishes and create a layout that felt indulgent rather than simply large.

Our Solution
We reduced the room size to return space to the master bedroom and create a more intimate ensuite. An extra-large cabinet with drawers and doors added essential storage. Onyx tiles became the focal point, complemented by fluted glass and knurled brushed brass detailing. Colour drenching and layered lighting enhanced the luxurious feel. The finished space is both practical and indulgent, showing that bigger is not always better.
